For those of you who have ordered some trees, TODAY is the day to pick them up! We will have them ready for you at the Berkeley Springs Depot, which you should enter via the Williams Street entrance.
As a reminder, participants receiving trees agreed to attend a very brief tree planting training, designed to help achieve tree survival. WSWA members will be on hand when you pick up your tree(s) to conduct the training and answer questions.
Of all conservation and restoration practices studied, planting trees provides some of the greatest environmental benefit. Trees support pollinators and wildlife, reduce runoff, and help protect the quality of our soil and water resources.
Trees that were ordered this fall through the Cacapon Institute’s “Your Community BMP Tree Planting program” will be ready for pickup between 4 and 7 pm. The popular tree program provides container-grown, native trees and shrubs through a cost-share agreement with the Cacapon Institute, made possible with support from the EPA, USDA Forest Service, WVDOF, WVDEP, and Warm Springs Watershed Association.
