There Would Be No Life on This Planet Without Trees

The Warm Springs Watershed Association is once again partnering with the Cacapon Institute to provide interested property owners 5’-8’ tall native trees at a cost ranging from $15-30.00. Applicants must agree to attend a one-hour tree planting demonstration when picking up their trees, as well as to care for trees as directed in the training.

Why participate in this program? Trees improve almost any landscape. Higher property values are assigned to homes with appropriately placed and well-maintained trees and shrubs. Strategically located trees help to lower your heating and cooling costs. Trees create and clean the oxygen we breath. Trees help to reduce the severity and frequency of flooding, even if your home is located far from a stream. It is especially important to plant trees now to offset the increased erosion and runoff caused by the 522-bypass construction.

Email WSWA2008@gmail.com to indicate your interest in participating in this easy low-cost best management plan. You will then be provided with a registration form and list of available trees. The deadline for applying is end of day on September 7, 2025.
